For the last few months, we have been looking for more committee members.  This is urgent – we cannot function properly unless we fill these gaps.  If you enjoy your U3A, then please consider helping.  Speak to any committee member if you would like more details, and come along to a committee meeting to see how it all works.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

                              Weymouth College Liaison

We occasionally have short courses organised at Weymouth College.  We need someone to discuss options, times and dates with a college contact, and to collect names of those interested.

Talk to anyone on the committee for more details.

Stirrings in the Forest

The spirit of Thomas Cook is alive and well within the U3A thanks to the efforts of Ann Mason.

Superb organisation, excellent travel arrangements and an entertaining destination were the hallmarks of the outing to the ‘New Forest Players’ Variety Show at Bashley.

23 hardy souls set off in a brand new coach with a shopping/coffee/lunch break at Burley as the first stop. One shop at Burley named the ‘Witches Coven’ attracted some totally uncalled for comment from one elderly traveller and I feel suitably ashamed of myself.

The show was non-stop fun and all agreed that it had been well worth the journey.

We arrived back at Weymouth not having mis-placed or lost anybody which is in itself a tribute to Ann’s efforts.

From all of us a big thank you to Ann and for those who missed the trip then make a booking for the next outing which will also be good value for money.
