Text Box: Weymouth & Portland u3a We meet on the third Friday of every month (August excepted) at the Salvation Army Citadel, Westham Road, Weymouth, from 10am until approximately 12 noon.  

Text Box: Some words from the Chairman.     Time seems to fly by, and it is hard to believe that we are half-way through the year.  We have had a very interesting mixture of speakers in the last few months, which have been greatly appreciated by members attending our monthly meetings.  I feel sure that this will continue in the next half-year, rounding off with our usual party in December   In April, we hosted a Dorset Sub-Regional meeting, to which twelve other U3As sent representatives.  Various     matters of interest to us all were discussed.  So here are some figures for the number crunchers amongst you!   At the last count, in April 2009, there were 98 U3As in the South-West Region, with more than 29,000 members.     I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support, and I look forward to seeing you at our meetings for the remainder of the year.     Ron Gill, Chairman, Weymouth & Portland U3A
