No, not from the Income Tax Office but from your Newsletter Editor.

Its time for those interesting articles from you, the members.  Perhaps the following ideas may help fire up your imagination.

Any comments, ladies and gentlemen, after the article about our Sunday Lunch Club?  How about some reviews of restaurants, cafes you have visited?  We can’t name names but it would be good to hear about your best or worst dining experiences from around the area.

And what about the Credit Crunch? I am sure some of you have found novel ways of saving the pennies, so let’s have your ideas.  I imagine there are many members who have ideas from wartime or ideas passed down through the family.

How about sharing your ‘perfect short break’?  I know many of our members visit some very interesting places - beautiful houses, historic buildings and towns, visit galleries, attend Festivals, take a themed U3A holiday, or attend a Summer School.  It doesn’t even have to be far away.  Our neighbours took us for a drive to Corton, Wadham and Long Bredy not so long ago.  It was so pretty and completely unknown to us.  So why not share your itinerary with us.  It could be our very own Weymouth and Portland Travel Log.

We have tried in the past to get a ‘Grumble Column’ going with little success so how about an ‘I wish……’ column.  Something along the lines of – ‘I wish that all bicycles had to have bells on by law.’  Or ‘I wish that people were banned from eating fish and chips when walking along the streets.’

Articles need only be about half a page long (approx 290 words), but a full page is just fine as well.  If possible to be sent to me by email, address below, or on a disc or memory stick.  But an article in good old fashioned pen and ink will be wonderful as well.  It’s having a go that counts.
